It’s thrilling to hike down into one of these canyons on a hot afternoon under the dappled light of a dense canopy of leaves and emerge at a rivers edge. It’s wonderful to see the sun glinting on the surface of the river and watch its rays penetrate down into the clear water or enjoy the cool shadows of the tree covered canyon walls that tower steeply around.
