The Walls of Jericho is a Wilderness Area located on the Alabama / Tennessee state line. It features a steep hike into a forested gorge leading to a natural amphitheater of light-grey stone. At the head of the gorge a waterfall disappears into a basin and emerges several hundred yards away.

This drawing is based on a trip I made there in November, 2019. I was impressed by the mystery of the waterfall (Hidden Falls) and the warm afternoon sunlight reflecting on the cliffs. The Wilderness Area is part of the Upper Paint Rock River watershed and which is recognized for its pristine beauty and abundance of diverse plants and animals, as well as natural geologic architecture.
